To the Next Level
Let's start by dealing with the Perfect Swing.

Reality is: there isn't one. Perfection is the first myth of swing mechanics that needs to be set aside. As at least one high-level hitting guru has pointed out, the perfect mechanical swing (maximum efficiency and energy generation and highest bat speed) is likely one in which you don't have to make contact with the ball. It might be pretty; might even be elegant physics, but it's not baseball.

All you have to do, in fact, is look at the swings of someone getting jammed inside (shown left) or reaching for an outside pitch that never gets there. You very quickly realize the problems with expecting - or teaching - perfection.
